For many years, The Canine Fence Company has been the major sponsor of Guiding Eyes’ Walkathon, an annual event to which the school’s blind graduates flock to from all over the world. The company’s support is the financial backbone of the event, and yet its marketing team asks for virtually nothing in return – a few signs, and a table from which to distribute literature.
Last year, The Canine Fence Company’s wonderful owners, Carol and Henry Hill, indicated that they wanted to do even more for Guiding Eyes. The Golf Classic seemed like the logical next step, and 2009 marks the second year of the company’s generous platinum sponsorship. The Canine Fence Company received the award for Sy Stewart Sponsor of the Year.
Still, the company sought to impact the school in an additional, meaningful way. Today, The Canine Fence Company is the supporter of Guiding Eyes’ Apprentice Training, a three-year program which aspiring Guiding Eyes instructors must successfully master to become qualified in their field.
The Canine Fence Company is represented on the Golf Classic Committee by Bob Hulbert, who can take credit for several of this year’s sponsors. Many of the company’s employees are involved with Guiding Eyes, including the Hill’s daughter Jennifer, who has two of our released dogs.
For its comprehensive, generous support, and for caring so deeply about Guiding Eyes for the Blind, we salute The Canine Fence Company and thank them for the positive energy they bring to our family.
