It takes a village…

Posted March 4th, 2015

This statement certainly rings true when it comes to raising puppies to become guide dogs.  From the tremendous commitment of a puppy raiser to the important roles of region team members, each person makes an invaluable difference in our puppies’ lives.  We’re also grateful to the veterinarians who donate their services and to the organizations and groups who allow us to use their spaces for classes.

Construction on our Canine Development Center will be complete this summer and we look forward to celebrating the grand opening in September.  While we eagerly anticipate our new “digs,” we have been fortunate to have the Patterson Fire Department offer us class space for the Dutchess County Puppy Raising Region.  The fire and ambulance apparatus offer interesting sights and sounds for our pups – all aiding in the important socialization process.  We thank Patterson FD for their generous support of our mission!
