Tours for the General Public

Join us on one of our scheduled tours at our Yorktown Heights campus, a wonderful way to learn more about Guiding Eyes and the work we do.  Tours last approximately one hour and are offered free of charge. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted. Please note our “Kennel Wish Lists” of needed toys and supplies, as well. We appreciate and encourage contributions of these specific items. (No substitutions will be accepted.)

If you have a Youth Group that is interested in a tour please visit the Youth Tours page. If you are a Puppy Raiser please submit all requests for tours through your Regional Manager.

What Will You See & Learn?

Here you will see where we house and care for approximately 170 dogs that are in various stages of their guide dog training.  You’ll hear about our extensive canine enrichment program designed especially for these dogs and learn about the variety of specialized programs that we offer to our clients.  You’ll also learn about our volunteer programs.

Tours are approximately one hour in duration.  You will get to meet some of our exceptional dogs and will be permitted to pet these dogs under the instruction of your tour guide.  Please note that this tour does not involve observing guide dogs being trained, interacting with guide dog users or “playing” with dogs.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to navigate internal spaces. There will be loud barking.

Tour guests must be aged 6 or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Tours are held on select Wednesdays at 2:30PM.

Guiding Eyes uses SignUp to book tours of our facility.
