Youth Tours

We enjoy hosting youth groups on tours of our Yorktown Heights campus.  Children will get to meet some of our dogs as well as learn about the role of our facilities in creating the next generation of Guiding Eyes dogs.  Information will also be offered about our volunteer programs.

You can help! In support of our dogs, click on the “Kennel Wish Lists” of needed toys and supplies. We appreciate and encourage contributions of these specific items. (No substitutions will be accepted.)

HEADQUARTERS AND TRAINING CENTER, YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY

Here you will see where we house and care for approximately 170 dogs that are in various stages of their guide dog training.  You’ll hear about our extensive canine enrichment program designed especially for these dogs and learn about the variety of specialized programs that we offer to our clients.  You’ll also learn about our volunteer programs.

Tours are approximately one hour in duration.  You will get to meet some of our exceptional dogs and will be permitted to pet these dogs under the instruction of your tour guide.  Please note that this tour does not involve observing guide dogs being trained, interacting with guide dog users or “playing” with dogs.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to navigate internal spaces. There will be loud barking.

Tours are held on select Wednesdays at 2:30PM.

Guiding Eyes uses SignUp to book tours of our facility.
