Nancy Lothrop (L) and Guiding Eyes dog Khaki with Carol Anderson of GEGuiding Eyes dog Khaki recently completed advanced guide dog training at our Yorktown campus and headed to upstate NY to work as a guide dog.  Before she left for her home training, she was able to welcome and thank a wonderful visitor to our campus.

Carol Anderson, GE Vice President for Compensation, Benefits and Health Care, met Khaki when she presented Guiding Eyes with a $25,000 donation.  A resident of Chappaqua, Anderson made the donation after receiving an award for outstanding leadership from GE.  “I’ve always admired the work of Guiding Eyes, and felt that the GE contribution would provide many deserving people with access to loving guide dogs to enhance the quality of their lives,” said Anderson.

Anderson spent the day at Guiding Eyes and learned how her important contribution will make a difference in many lives.  She asked many thoughtful questions about the care of our dogs and the support services for our clients.  Our staff provided demonstrations of our training techniques, our innovative relationship-centered puppy raising and our veterinary capabilities.   We congratulate Carol on her GE leadership recognition and we are honored that she chose to contribute to Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
