Update: 43rd Annual Golf Classic & Pat W. Browne, Jr. Memorial Blind Golf Tournament Postponed to 2021

 In News & Events

Dear Golf Classic Supporters:

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 43rd Annual Golf Classic and the accompanying Pat W. Browne, Jr. Memorial Blind Golf Tournament until next year.

The Guiding Eyes Annual Golf Classic has been our signature event for more than forty years. It is a special time when we come together to raise funds in support of our mission and celebrate our graduates, blind and visually impaired golfers, volunteers, and donors. Many of you travel from near and far to attend this remarkable event year after year, and we are thankful for your unwavering support.

The safety of the Guiding Eyes community is of the utmost importance to us all, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding while our staff focuses 100% of our efforts on the applicants who have been waiting patiently for a guide dog during these difficult times.

We look forward to your continued support next year when we hope to be in a position to continue this longstanding tradition.

We are grateful to our Golf Classic Committee Members, sponsors, and tremendous supporters. If you already have contributed to the Golf Classic this year and hoped to attend, we would like to offer the following options. Your current donation may be:

  • Applied directly to support the training of a guide dog (100% tax-deductible);
  • Credited to next year’s Golf Classic; or
  • Refunded to you.

If you already have donated to this year’s Golf Classic, please let us know how you would like to proceed by calling Laura Peterman at (914) 243-2249 or emailing Laura at lpeterman@guidingeyes.org.

We are grateful for your continued support of Guiding Eyes. While we will miss all of you and the blind golfers and their coaches this year, we wish you good health, and we look forward to seeing you on the links next year.

Sincerely,

Thomas A. Panek
