With Giving Tuesday coming up, I wanted to tell you a little bit about one of the best gifts I’ve ever received: my guide dog, Einstein.
🦮
Einstein is very energetic, sweet, and friendly, but whenever I take out the harness, he is ready to go. He always stays focused on task, even around other dogs. Having such a well-trained guide dog has been a blessing, especially for a busy college student like me. It’s good to know that I’m safe under his watch.

Partnering with Einstein has been life-changing, and I really want more people to have that same experience. That’s why I’m so excited to announce that, in honor of Giving Tuesday, a generous group of donors is TRIPLE-MATCHING all gifts up to $150,000 to help Guiding Eyes for the Blind create more guide dog teams like Einstein and me.

As you celebrate your Thanksgiving this year, know that you have helped so many people like Barbara, a recent graduate from Pennsylvania who received her third Guiding Eyes dog, a black Labrador named Quasar.

Barbara is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and having a guide dog means everything to her. Thanks to the Guiding Eyes community of volunteers, staff, and supporters, Barbara is able to feel free, confident, and independent every day with Quasar at her side.

It's that time of year again, friends! A litter of puppies is due to arrive at the beginning of December, and we need your help with name suggestions. For this litter, all the puppies will have names that begin with 'W'. Suggested names must be appropriate and easy to pronounce, usually 1-3 syllables long.

Before we know it, these puppies will be making a profound difference in someone’s life as their Guiding Eyes guide dog. But there’s still a long journey of growing and learning ahead. And no puppy can begin that journey without a name!

Last week, we hosted a group from @mastercard at our Training School campus to celebrate their sponsorship of our September Wag-A-Thon fundraiser.

The day began with coffee and cute puppies while the group was welcomed by Guiding Eyes President and CEO, Thomas Panek and Director of Donor Relations, Rebekah Cross. A wide variety of planned activities was offered, from crate building and painting to bathing dogs and prepping Kong treats.

We are grateful to Mastercard for their continuing support of our mission and thank Guiding Eyes Board Member Sue Kelsey, Executive Vice President, Global Segments Lead, Data & Services, and Guiding Eyes volunteer Greg Boosin, Executive Vice President, Product and B2B Marketing, for their dedication and coordination of their teams.

Happy Halloween! 🎃 It was a close race, but after counting the votes, we have a winner for our 2022 Halloween Costume Contest: Potter! The enchanting 12-week-old black lab puppy dressed up as his namesake, Harry Potter, with the help of his puppy raiser, Kristen Chusid, in our Baltimore Puppy Raising Region.
