Guiding Eyes for the Blind has been selected as one of three
The Guiding Eyes’ scent, named Empower, is an all-natural fragrance with a crisp, sparkling blend of citrus top notes interspersed with an herbaceous mix of spearmint, lemongrass and basil. A dry down of subtle woods make Empower clean and contemporary.
The name was chosen in recognition of Guiding Eyes’ mission to provide dogs that empower the blind, visually impaired, and children with autism, so that they have greater independence and dignity, the freedom to travel safely and new horizons of opportunity
Pour le Monde®, which means “For the World”, approached Guiding Eyes for the Blind to help it create funding and awareness for the internationally accredited, non-profit guide dog school.
“Visually impaired students come from around the world, reside on their beautiful campus and train with the finest bred dogs all at no cost. The school relies on donations to support its work. For over 50 years, blind and visually impaired individuals have relied on Guiding Eyes dogs to provide them with independence and empower them to live fulfilling and productive lives,” explains Wendi S. Berger, Founder of Pour le Monde®.

Pour le Monde’s® is only one of two companies in the nation with fragrances currently certified by the prestigious Natural Products Association. All of their 100% natural eau de parfums are free of harmful chemicals such as phthalates, parabens, sulfates and petrochemicals, and are infused with grain alcohol.
Former fashion magazine executive, Wendi S. Berger, conceived the idea of Pour le Monde® when she couldn’t find chemical-free fragrances during her pregnancy. After giving birth, she shifted her career focus towards creating natural fragrances that will provide funding and awareness for charities that ‘weren’t represented in the beauty marketplace, granting both fragrance wearers and charity recipients a mutual benefit.
The fragrances will initially be distributed online through Pour le Monde’s® website, www.plmparfums.com. 1.7-oz. eau du parfum spray retails for $95, with 10% of the net sale given back to Guiding Eyes for the Blind from the Pour le Monde website. In addition to the NPA, Pour le Monde’s eau de parfums are recognized by: the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics for being animal cruelty free; Peta’s Beauty without Bunnies, and Vegan.org.
