Two New Region Coordinators – Jodi and Kerry
Michelle Meunier – 05/22/2009
Welcome Jodi and Kerry!
Jodi H. Haveles
Jodi has always loved raising and training animals. She has spent the last 15 years raising two kids and two dogs with her husband, Jon. Volunteer work has been a passion of hers and after being deeply involved in various non- profit organizations, she decided 3 years ago to combine animals and people and become a Puppy Raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
“I learned so much and really felt that RCT was by far the most challenging but also the most enduring method I have ever worked with. I couldn’t get enough!”
After taking on more and more responsibilities with the Dominion Region, she accepted the role of RC for the Prince William Region. “Before I knew it, I was requesting an interview for the position of RM for the Richmond and Virginia Beach region! I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a contributing member of such a remarkable organization.”
Kerry comes to Guiding Eyes with experience in providing assistance dogs to those in need, after working seven years for NEADS (Dogs For Deaf and Disabled Americans), where she was a trainer and foster family coordinator.
“I’ve had a variety of non-traditional teaching throughout my life – from English as a Second Language to snowboarding to NEADS clients – and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Adult Education at Lesley University.”
When she’s not working she likes to play outside with her dogs, hiking, biking, running, skiing, snowboarding, and kayaking. Kerry’s position will have her working with the New England regions of Maine, Eastern Mass and New Hampshire.
