Guiding Eyes Featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show

We are excited to share some wonderful news! On Wednesday, January 28, Guiding Eyes was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, celebrating the incredible work our community makes possible.

The episode highlighted two powerful Guiding Eyes stories that showcased the life-changing partnerships between our graduates and their guide dogs. Rebekah Cross, Director of Donor Relations at Guiding Eyes and a graduate herself, appeared with her guide dog, Kokomo, to share her journey with vision loss and how she became involved with Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She described what life was like before receiving a guide dog, how her independence has grown, and how her daily life has improved. Rebekah also offered an overview of the organization, emphasizing our critical need for more volunteer puppy raisers.

Rebekah was later joined by graduate Liz Lesperance, along with her son, Clark, and her guide dog, Omaha. Liz shared how having a guide dog has transformed her life – from managing everyday tasks to spending more time with her family and traveling with greater confidence. Clark spoke about the impact a guide dog has had on his family and his favorite parts of having a guide dog at home.

Adorable puppies Kona and Krypton also made a special stop at the studio before heading to their puppy raisers. Kona, a female yellow Lab, and Krypton, a male black Lab, appeared on the show as Rebekah explained their next steps in the training process as they grow. After filming wrapped, Kona headed northwest to our Erie, NY, region, while Krypton traveled south to his puppy raiser in our Richmond, VA, region.
