Guiding Eyes operates out of two main locations in New York’s Hudson Valley, north of New York City.
Guiding Eyes’ 10-acre campus in Yorktown Heights, NY, is our organization’s headquarters – home to our administrative offices, student facilities, kennels and a veterinary hospital. This is where our dogs live while receiving their professional training, and where our students live while learning how to work with their new dog. Learn more.
Potential Guiding Eyes guide dogs get their start at our 30-acre Canine Development Center in Patterson, NY, home to everything from breeding, birthing, socializing, and screening to placing high-potential puppies in loving, nurturing puppy-raising homes. It includes a puppy training pavilion, expanded kennels, open living areas, outdoor areas for off-leash exercise and an expansive veterinary hospital. Learn more.
Our field-training center, located in White Plains, NY, offers students access to real-life settings to enhance their training, such as dining area complete with restaurant booth seating, and a bustling urban area with access to traffic lights, escalators and busy sidewalks. Indoor grooming and watering facilities are easily accessible from the lounge areas, and a sheltered patio is also available for students and Guide Dog Mobility Instructors to enjoy in good weather.
Opened in November 2021, the Guiding Eyes for the Blind Outreach Center in downtown Yorktown Heights, NY helps our organization connect with the general public. This fully-accessible facility serves as an information center for community members to learn about our programs and volunteer opportunities; hosts dog training classes and demonstrations; and offers meeting space for other local civic organizations.
Maintaining health and well-being for our world-class canines is of the utmost importance to us at Guiding Eyes. We operate two veterinary hospitals through our main campus in Yorktown Heights, NY and our Canine Development Center in Patterson, NY. These state-of-the-art veterinary facilities are fully staffed with veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and administrative staff. Learn more.
