We are pleased to share that on Giving Tuesday, November 29th, Guiding Eyes for the Blind was featured on Fox5,  broadcast live from their studio in the heart of New York City.

In the segment, Guiding Eyes’ CEO Thomas Panek shared Guiding Eyes’ mission, along with the importance and impact of the organization. He detailed the Puppy Raising Program where puppies are cared for, socialized and taught fundamental skills by volunteer Puppy Raisers, as they prepare as future guide dogs. Thomas discussed how having a guide dog has changed his life, as well as the lives of so many other individuals in their journey towards greater independence with vision loss.

Nothing brightens a room like puppies, so joining Thomas were two 8-week-old Labrador Retrievers, Ives, an adorable yellow male, and Indra, a lovable black female. Having passed their puppy tests, both are ready to meet their puppy raisers and take the beginning steps towards a career as a guide dog.

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 and is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
