Janice has an IFT date

Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season!

Janice and I have been super busy with the festivities, along with school and preparation for my father’s wedding.  We participated in several walks for charity, including one that supported Relay for Life and another for The Iris Network, a Portland based charity providing rehabilitation to blind and visually impaired people.

Janice is now about 15 months old.  If you have ever raised a pup, you know that this age signifies her proximity to her “IFT” –  the In For Training evaluation that will determine the next steps in her journey.

I got the email telling me that her tentative date to go “to college” would be May 20th!  It is such a happy/sad time.  You know in your heart that it is time for this wonderful pup to head on to the next chapter in their life, but at the same time, you don’t want to let her go out of your sight ever again.

For the next few months I will definitely be holding her a little closer and praying that she will be the best she can be.
