Guiding Eyes for the Blind is proud to partner with Liberty Bank Foundation to help support our mission of providing guide dogs to those with vision loss so they can experience increased independence, mobility, opportunity, and an enhanced quality of life. This collaboration reflects a shared devotion to bringing powerful, meaningful change to the lives of people facing the daily challenges that blindness and vision loss present.
“My guide dog of 10 years, Aron, has shown me the true values of teamwork, dedication, and infinite trust. These values inspired others in our lives, including my mom, who volunteered her time to raise a Guiding Eyes puppy, Wegman. Liberty Bank’s support and extensive knowledge of the impact of a Guiding Eyes dog enabled my mom to raise Wegman in an office setting. With the help of her Liberty Bank teammates, Wegman had plenty of opportunities to build proper social skills, practice obedience, and learn to settle confidently on the job. We are incredibly grateful for all the generous hearts, hands, and paws that play a role in guide dog partnerships,” shared Melissa Carney, Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s Community Outreach/Graduate Support Manager and Guiding Eyes graduate.
Liberty Bank Foundation extends Liberty Bank’s long-standing commitment to strengthening the communities they’ve proudly served for over 200 years. Their support of Guiding Eyes for the Blind began in 2018 with a dress-down day fundraiser to benefit our mission. More recently, the Foundation sponsored one of our pups, appropriately named Banks, who has begun formal guide dog harness training.

“At Liberty, we are ‘Community Kind,’ and we partner with local organizations to make a difference,” said Liberty Bank President and CEO David W. Glidden, who also serves as President of the Liberty Bank Foundation. “Guiding Eyes for the Blind is an important resource for so many individuals who experience vision loss. The guide dogs provided change lives in meaningful ways, and we are happy to help make that happen.”
