October 16-22, 2023 is National Estate Planning Awareness Week
Did you know that over 56% of Americans do not have an up-to-date estate plan?*
There is no better time than the present to explore how you can create an estate plan to express your health care wishes and secure your financial future, and that of the people and causes close to your heart.
If you already have an estate plan, it is wise to review it periodically to make sure it reflects changes in your life, (such as children/grandchildren, marriage, divorces, moves), financial circumstances, and tax laws.
Including Guiding Eyes for the Blind in your estate plan is an excellent way to ensure that we will be able to provide life-changing guide dogs to people with vision loss for years to come.
There are several easy ways you can plan a future gift to Guiding Eyes that costs you nothing now:
- Name Guiding Eyes for the Blind in your will or revocable living trust as the beneficiary of a specified sum of money, a particular asset, or portion of your residuary estate.
- Designate Guiding Eyes for the Blind as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or individual retirement account, bank account, securities account, or life insurance policy and provide a future benefit to Guiding Eyes.
For more information on how you can help provide expertly trained Guide Eyes dogs to the people who need them, contact Kathleen A. O’Reilly, Planned Giving Officer at 914-243-4355 or by email at KOReilly@guidingeyes.org.
