At the beginning of July, three of our staff members had the privilege of attending the National Federation of the Blind’s national convention in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. With over 2,500 individuals who are blind or visually impaired from around the country at the event, it was no surprise that Guiding Eyes graduates maintained a strong presence. We were thrilled to connect with at least 30 of our teams, clearly thriving in their bonds between human and dog, work ethic, confidence, and independence. After a grueling day of crowds and convention activities, we were able to come together to celebrate the ability to gather in-person for the first time since 2019, meet new and familiar faces, and simply share in the joy of the Guiding Eyes community.

NFB provides advocacy, education, research, technology, and programs encouraging independence and self-confidence for blind and visually impaired individuals.
