The article titled “I’ve Been Legally Blind for Decades — Here’s What It’s Like to Travel the World on My Own”, talks about Thomas’ personal experiences of traveling with a guide dog over the years. In the interview, he shares his incredible journey of visiting the temples of Kyoto, Japan, the potential challenges of German cobblestone streets, and the privilege of touching the marble of the Parthenon in Greece.
Along with highlighting the unique experience of traveling with a highly skilled guide dog, Thomas also talks about the difference technology and evolving society have made in making travel more accessible for blind individuals. He emphasizes the significance of travel for everyone, stating, “I’ve always believed that it’s imperative for us to travel to understand each other as a people. If we’ve been to someone’s place of origin, it connects us to that person. It really is part of our human nature to travel.”
