June 8th, 2015 – Mount Kisco and Fairview Country Clubs
Guiding Eyes for the Blind provides guide dogs and autism service dogs – enabling freedom for people to achieve life’s goals. The dogs, training and lifetime support are free of charge to blind and visually impaired people and families with children with autism. The Golf Classic is Guiding Eyes’ largest annual fundraiser and brings in significant revenue to support its work.
An amazing host… New York Giants quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning returns to host the June 8th Golf Classic for the ninth year. Eli greets golfers during the day and attends the cocktail and dinner receptions in the evening. Manning shares, “Since I’ve been a part of this, I’ve learned so much about how these dogs affect lives. Every year, I listen to people tell their story about how they’re able to accomplish so much more, and to fulfill so many different talents in their lives because of having guide dogs. That’s been very rewarding for me.”
Inspiring athletes… On June 7th, some of the country’s top blind golfers compete for the Corcoran Cup – considered the master’s invitational of blind golf. The United States Blind Golf Association (USBGA) believes, “you don’t have to see it to tee it,” and the talents of their golfers speak to this mantra. On June 8th, USBGA players circulate the golf courses, offering sighted golfers the chance to hit a ball blindfolded.
Extraordinary dogs… Guiding Eyes breeds and trains some of the most remarkable Labrador retrievers in the world. Both puppies and young adult dogs in training participate in the Golf Classic; they make friends with guests and pose for photographs.
Incredible support… The Golf Classic raises funds through sponsorships, raffle ticket sales and our live, silent and online auctions. Learn more about how you can get involved: contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 914.243.2238.
