We value our donors and volunteers – people just like you – as compassionate supporters of our mission: providing exceptional guide dogs for people with vision loss for greater independence.
It can cost up to $50,000 annually to train and care for a guide dog throughout its working lifetime with a person who is blind, yet all of our services are provided free of charge to our students. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the vast majority of our funding comes from the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic organizations, to fulfill our mission. We work out of our Headquarters and Training Center in Yorktown Heights, New York, and our Canine Development Center in Patterson, New York. Guiding Eyes is an accredited member of the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), the organization that establishes worldwide standards for the breeding and training of guide dogs.
There are so many ways to be involved with our organization through volunteering and philanthropy, and we truly appreciate the difference that your support makes. Your donation, of any size, is important. You can make a contribution today. You can also easily memorialize or pay tribute to an important person in your life by contributing $25 or more. You might also consider naming a future guide dog or purchasing a paw on the Paws of Fame honorary wall.
