More Ways to Give

We value our donors and volunteers – people just like you – as compassionate supporters of our mission: providing exceptional guide dogs for people with vision loss for greater independence.

Your support can make a difference

It can cost up to $50,000 annually to train and care for a guide dog throughout its working lifetime with a person who is blind, yet all of our services are provided free of charge to our students. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the vast majority of our funding comes from the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic organizations, to fulfill our mission. We work out of our Headquarters and Training Center in Yorktown Heights, New York, and our Canine Development Center in Patterson, New York. Guiding Eyes is an accredited member of the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), the organization that establishes worldwide standards for the breeding and training of guide dogs.

There are so many ways to be involved with our organization through volunteering and philanthropy, and we truly appreciate the difference that your support makes. Your donation, of any size, is important. You can make a contribution today. You can also easily memorialize or pay tribute to an important person in your life by contributing $25 or more. You might also consider naming a future guide dog or purchasing a paw on the Paws of Fame honorary wall.

You may be interested in considering Guiding Eyes in your estate planning. Or, if you are affiliated with a corporation or foundation, we welcome the opportunity to help you select the best Guiding Eyes program that fits your group’s giving guidelines. If you’d like to give through your workplace as part of the Combined Federal Campaign, our CFC number is 10248. Don’t forget that Guiding Eyes is also eligible for your company’s matching gift program.

Guiding Eyes’ two campuses, the Yorktown Heights Headquarters and Training site and the Patterson Canine Development Center, offer you numerous opportunities to honor an important person in your life. You can choose to name a facility or room in which our important work is accomplished, or a program that is critical to the success of our Guiding Eyes teams.

“Being here at Guiding Eyes has been nothing less than a positive, kind, encouraging and amazing experience. If something you’re doing can be improved upon, it is always stated in a positive manner. Thank you, Guiding Eyes. You have given me the gift of independence – now I will be able to do so many more things with my life.”
